Andrew Jacobson focuses his practice in tax lien and mortgage foreclosure litigation. He represents financial institutions, real estate developers and mortgage servicers in matters involving mortgage and tax lien foreclosure litigation.
He has worked with several large financial institutions of note in both an in-house lawyer and management capacity. Most recently, as a manager for one of the largest loan servicers in the United States, he was responsible for managing thousands of foreclosure cases from inception to sale, including contested litigation, title resolution and workout options. Previously, Mr. Jacobson was Special Counsel at another prominent New York law firm where he represented mortgage servicers in contested foreclosure litigation in state and federal courts. Before that, he was a VP, Assistant General Counsel at JPMorgan Chase Bank where he supervised outside counsel in cases involving mortgage related litigation and advised senior management regarding compliance with federal and state consumer protection laws such as TILA, RESPA, FCRA and HOEPA. Mr. Jacobson was in-house counsel to a residential builder, where he obtained land use/project approvals, advised management regarding multi-million dollar land acquisition contracts, conducted due diligence to determine project viability and provided advice on complex real estate loans.
He also has broad commercial litigation experience including, but not limited to, representing developers and condominium associations in complex construction defect litigation.
